The International Cadet Class Association is proud to be a World Sailing International Class since 1958. World Sailing is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the world governing body for the sport of sailing.
The principle members of World Sailing are the ‘Member National Authorities’ (MNAs) and the ‘Class Associations’. The Cadet is one of only two(!) International Classes for the age group of 6-17 year olds, the so-called junior classes. Together with the Optimist (an International Class since 1973) it represents the interests of the world’s sailing youth.
The Chairman of the International Cadet Class is a member of the Classes Committee of World Sailing, where the Class Associations are represented. He promotes the Class’ interests at the World Sailing Annual Conference.
